The Terraces of Los Gatos (TLG) was originally envisioned in 1972 by members of the Los Gatos Presbyterian Church who recognized the need for senior housing in the city, and began exploring options to make this need a reality. The committee spent the next 11 years exploring options, and in 1983 talks were held between the church and HumanGood (then known as ABHOW, or American Baptist Homes of the West) who assisted with the option to purchase land adjacent to the church to build the community. After years of approval by the Los Gatos city planners, ground was broken for the community in 1990 and TLG opened its doors in 1992.
TLG would not have been completed without years of dedication and hard work by church members, HumanGood, residents and many others who persevered through the years of the planning process to make this community a reality. We are grateful for the residents, team members, and board members who have worked so hard to make this the vibrant, vital, great community it is today.
