August 30, 2021 -- Our affordable housing teams are closely monitoring the Caldor Fire, which is currently burning just south of South Lake Tahoe. The proximity of the fire and dangerous wind conditions triggered evacuation for two of our affordable housing communities this morning: Kelly Ridge and Tahoe Senior Plaza.
Transportation has been arranged, and residents are designated to be sheltered at Gardnerville Community Center in Nevada.
Most residents are now with family/friends. For Tahoe Senior Plaza and Kelly Ridge, transportation has been coordinated for those residents who need to go to Gardnerville Community Center. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
