Las Ventanas at Summerlin, Nevada’s only nonprofit continuing care active adult community, became recognized as one of 12 Certified Centers for Successful Aging (CSA) in the nation.
Founded by Masterpiece Living (MPL), CSA recognition is awarded to innovative leaders in the aging profession who demonstrate a commitment to furthering the successful aging movement.
“We are excited to be recognized as a Certified Center for Successful Aging, and proudly accept the responsibilities that come with being a regional expert for illustrating best practices in the aging field,” said Jonathan Boyar, executive director of Las Ventanas at Summerlin. “This certification demonstrates our commitment to the residents we serve.”
As a CSA, Las Ventanas at Summerlin has fulfilled all of the criteria set by a team of experts in the field of aging. These cultural implementations include trained leadership and data-driven decision-making, active coaching and the use of empowering language, in addition to community outreach, civic engagement and both caregiver and family member support.
CSA recipients like Las Ventanas at Summerlin support all levels of living and multidimensional programming that includes intergenerational initiatives, as well as resident and member-led events that tap into a collective human capital.
“CSAs are regional centers of excellence that will be a valuable resource for cities and towns who are struggling to adapt to a growing older," Said MPL President Dr. Roger Landry. "They have also taken on the responsibility of outreach for those aging in place, and will eventually be among those who bring about a change in public policy and the way we treat our aging population.”
