Westminster Gardens residents hosted the regional spelling bee competition for the San Gabriel Valley.
The spelling competition, coordinated at the community by a resident group known as the Spellbinders, attracted more than a dozen competitors in the surrounding area. That included residents from Hollenback Palms, Claremont Place Senior Living and the Arcadia Retirement Center.
Since 1998, Westminster Gardens have taken home the top prize at least seven times—including this year. Resident Helen Saliba was the big winner this year. Coming in second place was resident Vic Springer.
