Royal Oaks and Westminster Gardens received the Los Angeles Regional Agency’s 2018 San Gabriel Valley Environmental Awards recognizing each community’s leadership on supporting the local environment.
The two communities were among more than a dozen winners—including businesses and organizations in the cities of Artesia, Bradbury, Duarte, Pomona, Rosemead and Sierra Madre—who were recognized for their leadership in supporting the local environment.
Royal Oaks stepped up its recycling efforts including separating their recyclable items on a weekly basis and increasing the numbers of bins for both green and food waste. Westminster Gardens, which also has recycling program throughout the community, was recognized for its efforts to educate residents and team members on recycling and how they can boost their efforts.
