Regular exercise and strength training can help people maintain mobility and good mental health as they age. At the Terraces of Boise, residents have the opportunity to work out in a fully equipped, state-of-the-art fitness gym.
Our gym is open to others in the Boise area in search of physical therapy. If you’ve suffered an accident, had surgery or been restricted with a period of inactivity, you can regain your fitness by using our physical therapy gym staffed by our trained professionals.
On-site recovery care
It’s easy to get qualified physical therapy care without leaving home when you live in our community. You can “commute” from your doorstep to the comfortable and inviting space, where you’ll be guided through recovery every step of the way.
Peter Lucier, a long-time resident at the Terraces, has used the physical therapy gym on multiple occasions following an ankle surgery, a knee replacement and two back surgeries. Lucier wanted to be able to return to the things he loves, including golf and playing with his grandchildren. To do this, he engages in therapy up to three times a week, focusing on rebuilding leg strength by walking, climbing stairs and through weight training. The on-site physical therapists tailored his sessions to fit his individual needs.
“In my case, Amanda worked with me to find a healthy way to lower myself down to my trike’s seat - ten inches off the ground - without bending my back or lifting over 20 pounds,” said Lucier. Overall, he says his experience with physical therapy was great, and he is on track to achieving his goals.
