Valle Verde residents raised the most funds in support of the Alzheimer’s Association-Santa Barbara chapter’s annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s. That effort earned the community the top fundraiser award from the association.
In the last five years, residents have raised more than $137,000 for the Santa Barbara chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and have been the top fundraiser for the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s event each year. In December, residents also donated handmade holiday gifts and clothes to the Unity Shoppe.
“It is wonderful to live in a community that supports each other, and Valle Verde takes that to heart year after year,” said U.S. Rep. Salud Carbajal in the Noozhawk newspaper. Carbajal presented the award to the community in December.
