What Is Short-Term Rehabilitation

Short-term rehabilitation—or post-acute, transitional care—services are available while you recover from a health event, such as a hospital stay for an illness, injury or surgery. The goal of your short-term rehabilitation is to regain your strength and relieve pain so you can get back to your routine quickly. Post-acute services can be needed at any age and include:
